The workshop attempts to explore, critique and understand unique thought processes and histories of Deconstruction, minimalism and Post-modernism. The workshop will introduce participants to relevant theories and expose them to radical design practices shaping the present and future of architecture and design.

A series of lecture presentations on theories and their design applications by distinguished architects in their projects will form the basis of learning during the workshop. The Workshop encourages participants to explore a spectrum of cross disciplinary inspirations in order to evolve a better understanding of these thought processes. Interested students must contact the undersigned for registrations and additional information. The workshop shall be conducted on a digital platform with a digitized report as a culmination of the research conducted.

Short documentaries will be assigned as homework to view which will be discussed in the session time.


Percy Pithawala

Prof Percy Adil Pithawala is an Architect, Academic, and Artist with over 25 years of experience. He graduated from M.S. University, Baroda, and subsequently pursued a Masters in Urban Design from Pratt Institute, New York.


Throughout his career he has been associated with several national as well as international practices in Design. Prof. Percy has been the Principal of the Institute of Environmental Design, Vallabh Vidhyanagar, and a founding member of the School of Environmental Design and Architecture, Navrachana University, Baroda.He has a keen interest in art and has had several successful solo exhibitions at galleries in India and abroad.


Recently he founded The Red Studio at Baroda with an intention to further the discourse in Art, Architecture, and Design. The Red Studio organizes workshops, seminars, and lecture presentations from time to time.

Dhruv Shah

Dhruv Shah is an Architect and a theoretical researcher who graduated from Navrachana University and is currently pursuing a masters in Architectural history and theory at UCL, Bartlett London.


His interests lie in the intersectionality of Academia, research and Practice with keen interest in parallel discourses to Architecture with a firm command on 3d softwares and simulations.


Architect Dhruv Shah has been teaching since the past 5 years and has conducted various workshops independently and in collaboration with Red Studio under the mentorship of Prof Percy Pithawala.
