That’s why he is spirited to learn more about how to conserve the material and its craftsmanship.
After finishing the Omah Boto project, he reevaluated the material and its sustainability, realizing that red brick is damaging the soil surface and increasing carbon footprint. The talk takes us through his journey of self reflection where on one hand he attempts at preserving brick architecture fearing that the local brick craftsmanship will disappear. On the other hand, he talks about his research, trying to create sustainable bricks and handmade bricks in modern context, using the laterite soil or any recycled materials.
