Practice Ideology

For us, architecture is the challenge of calmly combining functionality and sensuality. The simple, the reduction to the essentials and always sharpened the view to create tension between the everyday, the familiar and the changes in our needs. The desire to discover the familiar in a new way and to caress the mind’s senses.

CAMA A is an architecture office for the big picture and the small details. CAMA A was founded in 2011 by Marc Hensel. Between 2013 and 2019, Marc Hensel and Robin Foster jointly managed the Berlin Charlottenburg office. Marc Hensel has been running the office again since September 2019.

After completing his classic professional training as a draftsman, Marc Hensel worked for Professor Josef Paul Kleihues and other architectural offices for many years. After studying architecture at the Bremen University of Applied Sciences, the UDK Berlin and the Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, he graduated in 2000 with Prof Dr Ing. Wolfgang Schächen and Prof. Klaus Lattermann. As a project manager for Kleihues + Kleihues Architects, he worked on numerous competitions and projects and gained many years of experience in project development, design and implementation planning – including the coordination and coordination of specialist planning services. Out of the desire to implement his own ideas in concrete architecture, he decided to set up his own office in 2011.
