The competition “Cybergrid” is a part of cyber competitions and Cybertecture Masterclass held by UNI.xyz in collaboration with Cybertecture Academy. This will be a four-month-long Interactive Online Design Workshop and Talks taught personally by visionary architect James Law.
The course will be organized around online lectures, workshops, collaborative sketching, one on one design tutorials with James Law, design competition, and presentation. It will also be paired with software-based learnings from dynamic workshops by Future.
Virtual worlds continue to explore the spatial world through video games, movies, and design demonstrations. What if we take these basics of VR/AR to explore architecture at its most real?
Can the digital communities transcend in a physical form, where one can walk and experience spaces?
The challenge: The design challenge is to develop a virtual smart society on Sansar. The challenge is to design 100-homes and a functional society around them.
The master plan should include shopping centers, community spaces (parks and recreation), and the basic functions of a smart district. Design around current real/reel world trends (NFT, Blockchain, etc) regarding digital worlds and real estate. For instance, working inhabitants in the district will function completely on blockchain transactions.
Society needs to be planned for virtual walkthroughs and immersive experiences. Participants are free to decide their user group and are encouraged to be as creative as possible. They are urged to incorporate unique aesthetics, innovative materials, and new technologies that will make the district a part of the Cybertecture community.
The competitions are open for students and professionals from all the disciplines of design.
The team limit for this competition is 4 members maximum per team.
