Henry Myerberg

Principal, FAIA, founder of HMA2, an architectural firm launched in 1986 .Since that time he has built a distinguished career centered on his passionate belief in the impact of design on education and learning. Henry’s innovative and inspiring environments for libraries, schools, and colleges are informed by his complementary experience in the creation of retail, office and gallery spaces, hotels and airports. Henry’s notable education projects include work for American University of Central Asia, Amherst College, University of Virginia, Hampshire College, Bryn Mawr College, and Wofford College. Henry is also proud to have served as the volunteer design director for the Robin Hood Foundation’s L!BRARY initiative, which is committed to reinventing libraries for New York City’s 650 public elementary schools. His extensively published projects have won numerous awards, including the 2001 National Award from the American Institute of Architects and the American Library Association award for Bryn Mawr College’s Rhys Carpenter Library.

From 2003 to 2007 Henry was a principal at the Rockwell Group, overseeing cultural and commercial projects nationwide, including the marketplace of the JetBlue terminal at JFK. Prior to this, he was a principal of Helfand Myerberg Guggenheimer architects, which he co-founded in 1999. After receiving a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University Graduate School of Design in 1980, he spent his first years in practice as a project architect at the renowned New York-based firm of Edward Larrabee Barnes. Henry has been an adjunct professor at Columbia University and lecturer at Harvard University.
