Apoorva Shroff
Apoorva is one of India’s most promising architects with over 20 years of work and project experience across the USA and Asia. Her work has been featured in Architecture Digest, the centerfold of the Mint Lounge, the covers of Elle Décor & numerous global portals. Forbes India has described her work as “One of a Kind.” One of her most recent projects, Airavat, a home in the clouds, was nominated as a finalist at the prestigious World Architecture Festival, 2021.
With a Master’s in Architecture from the University of California, Los Angeles, her tryst with design started from her artistic inquiries as a child. Her style was further defined during her professional stint in Manhattan, where she worked with NYC’s leading urban design firm, Cooper Robertson and Partners.
Apoorva returned to India in 2006 as a partner at reD and was instrumental in building the then young firm, along with the founder architects, to its leading practice. Over the years, she has designed prominent office spaces and homes for marquee clients across India and China, including Softbank, ChrysCapital, General Atlantic, The Jindals, etc. Apoorva frequently mentors at BSSA, Mumbai’s most popular school for Architecture. Apoorva founded Lyth in January 2022.
Practice Ideology
lyth Design is a Mumbai-based boutique design atelier founded in 2022, spearheaded by founder and principal architect Apoorva Shroff. She makes her foray as an entrepreneur with over two decades of experience, including an accomplished innings as a partner at the celebrated reD Architects. Her expertise has enabled her to steer the “lyth-chapter” forward and create out-of-the-box solutions within the verticals of Architecture, Interior, Product, and Graphic Design.
The unique name of the practice takes inspiration from the word “lyth,” translating to a joint that binds and supports the movement. Striving better to connect the world through spatial storytelling and clear articulation, this analogy is indeed fitting to its focus. The studio curates novel and tastefully crafted spaces that resonate with its client’s personalities with great attention to detail.
