Ar. Meeta Jain

Meeta Jain is a graduate and a Gold Medalist of the prestigious Centre for Environment Planning and Technology (CEPT), Ahmedabad. She started her Bangalore based architectural firm in 2002, where she anchors the process of conceptualization and execution of the architectural and design projects.

 

 

 

 

Practice Ideology

The Meeta Jain Architects strives to create spaces for an extended social ecology, by forming spaces that are open-ended, and of multiple uses in nature. It is her vision to bring people together in as many ways, and make an attempt to create good interface spaces between the project and outside world, along with exploring play of materials and elements. Since 2002 MJA, has delivered 75 plus projects largely consisting of full-fledged residences, interiors, public spaces, living communities, workspaces and art institutions. She also designed the award winning 1 Shanthi road gallery, an internationally acclaimed alternative Art Hub along with other award-winning projects. 

Through a parallel practice of her called MapBee (founded in 2009), which is driven to work for spaces for change. She has also worked on collaborative projects with artist, citizen’s groups, educational groups etc. to create new space models. MapBee uses temporary space gestures while finding new space prototypes, geared towards world of children and spaces of confluence. One of the well-known projects designed by MAPBEE is Number Nagar, a math laboratory model for primary schools, which is recipient of many innovation awards.
