Ms. Surya Prasanth
Ms. Surya Prasanth, a conservation architect by training, received her Masters from the prestigious School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi – an institution of national importance in 2005. Her initial training in architecture has instilled in her the acumen for detailing, which manifests in the designs of the projects handled by her. Her design sensibilities are aided by her sensitive approach of ‘design-rooted-in-the-context’. This results in unique design projects in terms of their spatial and functional experiences. Mudbricks’s award-winning practice has been actively involved in designing and coordinating projects of varying scales. The firm’s portfolio includes both privately commissioned greenfield entities and socially relevant architectural conservation projects. Their works have been widely published in both local and national media.
Practice Ideology
Mudbricks, headed by Ar. Surya Prasanth adheres to ‘design rooted in the context’. They strive to create unique spatial and functional experiences while recognizing simplicity as the vital essence of a good design. They develop designs that blur out the boundaries between built spaces and surroundings. They seek to knit a transparent fabric between the outdoors and indoor spaces through various architectural elements, materials, and intentional positioning. They recognize that architecture is way beyond four walls and a roof. The firm aims to provide nourished and quality spaces well bonded with nature: spaces that evoke human emotions of tranquillity and act as a catalyst for positive changes.
