Netra Bafna
She is a graduate of CEPT university with a degree in Bachelor of Architecture. She is an obsessively organized one, produces her best work under pressure and the artistic one. She loves sketching with charcoal, pen and ink, pastels, watercolours or any other media. For her travelling and seeing new places is synonymous with sketching every bit of it. She is a history and literature buff. Having studied at ETH university based in Zurich, she learnt how to develop an idea and create complex yet efficient spaces. Further on, she has been awarded the Distinguished Student Award at CEPT University, the International Designing Resilence in Asia award ’18 at National University of Singapore, the Kohler Scholarship for her academic work and a runner up for the Kshitij Jain memorial award. Following her academic footsteps, she is the most organised one at the workspace. Netra has always been up for a utilitarian point of view when it comes to designing details and trades most of her negotiations with that lens.
Hitarth Majithiya
He is a graduate of CEPT university with a degree in bachelors of Architecture. He is the quiet one, with a keen sense of detailing and the one who is trying to make all the crazy ideas come true. Travelling and mountaineering are his true passions. His sketchbook is filled with tiny detailed sketches and is a beauty to look at. Further architectural studies at Politecnico di Milano in Italy, he learnt to think at an urban scale, fend for himself and travelled with no abandon. He has been to over 11 countries with a keen eye looking at the contextual architecture of the world. Since then, he has been one of the founding architects at Terra Firma working at the varying scales of furniture design to institutional architecture with equal rigor, passion and care.
Practice Ideology
Terra Firma is a design consultancy based in Ahmedabad, founded by two young architects. Our intentions and interests lie in creating meaningful spatial experiences keeping in mind contextual appropriateness while abiding by the needs of the client. We indulge in working from urban scale architecture to the detail of designing furniture in our interior projects. With a passion to innovate and excel in the field of design, we seek to break the boundaries and keep challenging ourselves.
