Excerpt: Nat Motor, a commercial project by M Space, aims to transform the area into a destination that represents the city’s evolution from ancient to modern times. The design combines transparent and solid surfaces in a balanced composition, reflecting contrast with natural finishes and contemporary automotive surfaces. The layered surfaces are rhythmically arranged within spaces, creating a dynamic architectural experience.
Project Description

[Text as submitted by architect] The design approach is an experiment in creating SPACE that moves, transforms, and continuously changes. This is achieved by adapting the urban roadside area that serves as a transition between the airport and downtown Udon Thani Province.

The road boundary is blurred to create a variety of SPACE forms, inspired by the shape of the ancient bronze winged pendant found in the archaeological site of Phu Phra Bat. This pendant, which is over 4,000 years old, is an ICONIC artifact of Udon Thani and has been reinterpreted symbolically as a large wing (BIG WING) floating in the LANDSCAPE, becoming a highlight in the urban setting.

The design aims to transform the area into a destination that embodies the evolution of the city, from its ancient origins to modern times. The materials used reflect contrast, with one side showcasing natural finishes while the other side features contemporary automotive surfaces. Within the movement of spaces, layered surfaces are arranged rhythmically to create a dynamic architectural experience.

The design integrates a combination of transparent and solid surfaces in a balanced composition. The central area serves as an exhibition space for automobiles in motion, blending seamlessly with the surroundings. The entrance area is entirely designated as PUBLIC SPACE, allowing for various EVENTS that transform the surrounding area into a LANDMARK of the new era in Udon Thani.
