Project Description
[Text as submitted by architect] Chittagong is one of the most prominent areas of evergreen and semi-evergreen rain forests in the gifted land of Bangladesh in terms of natural resources. Chittagong’s biodiversity and its topography of land with hilly areas have made it one of the most significant and challenging areas for architects to deal with.
The project Park Terrace is located on a corner plot of a residential zone with undulating terrain soon to be covered by the plethora of urbanization. This particular residential apartment building is an example of creating dialogue with the context by providing a minimalistic appearance with functional integrity.
Intelligent use of regulations, i.e., using the total limited floor area distributed in a way to make the best use of availability, generates terraces at different levels in different shapes with transposition of experiences. Being poised at the corner, the terraces invite a 270-degree view of the surrounding terrain and provide an uninterrupted view of the cityscape. Besides, the variations of the terraces give a unique and organic architectural appearance that complies with the diversity of the topography.
The layout of the building is very simple and minimal, yet it prioritizes livability in the best possible way. Modern planning approaches, articulated spaces, and maximum exposure to the lights make the ambiance livelier. A very compact organization with multiple apertures in the spaces exposes the interior to nature from all directions and ensures a well-ventilated environment.
Landscape plays a masterful role in establishing the building as an example in the real estate sector in a city context. Vertical green on all the floors inhales deep draughts of oxygen inside and enhances the living quality spatially. Every landscape element contributes to bringing the user community closer to the ground and reminds them of the ever-changing weather transition.
Ultimately, it’s a modern living ornament at the top of its concern for the current global climatic condition. It’s the epitome of modernization in the most natural way in a city context. No exaggeration in appearance, no extravaganza in material selection—only appropriate application of the minimum requirements with exquisite detailing has transformed the multi-residential apartment into more than a house—a home.
