Practice Ideology

giving people space

The firm follows a poetic pragmatism. Our architecture firm, founded in 1998 by Jakob Dunkl, Gerd Erhartt, Peter Sapp and Michael Zinner (partner until 2004), is dedicated to projects and processes that focus on people. Our office, which today has around 40 employees, focuses on flexible structures that should give people space and freedom. Lateral thinking largely determines how we work, while empathy and curiosity guide us through the design process. We create emotional and simple solutions with the highest possible efficiency that create additional added value for the users. The belief in longevity and long-term changes also plays a central role in our designs. We believe that flexible usage scenarios create sustainable projects. Our projects, competitions and buildings of various sizes in a national and international context must show authenticity, charisma and a strong identity.
