Ruben Muedra Ortiz
Rubén Muedra was born in 1985 in Pedralba (Valencia). He obtained the title of Architect, in the specialty of Building, by the ETSAV (Promotion 2002-2008). He collaborates for 2 years with José Manuel Barrera Puigdollers (Dr. Architect), until he founded in Valencia Rubén Muedra Estudio de Arquitectura in 2010.
The Studio, specialized in Residential Single Family Architecture, has developed projects for private clients since its inception. Currently he also develops projects in the field of Restoration, Retail and large Offices, such as SP Berner, Idai Nature, Clave Denia-AleHop or Consorfrut. The philosophy of the firm is present in all of them, developing a responsible, creative, free and honest Architecture based on constructive precision and sincerity, respect for the environment and the needs of the client, making each project unique.
He has recently been awarded the Prize for Excellence in Sustainable Architectural Design at the BUILD Sustainable Building Awards for the Idai Nature Passivhaus Headquarters project, holding conferences at the VI Congress of Nearly Null Energy Buildings (Madrid) and the 11th Passivhaus Conferences (Burgos).
Practice Ideology
The firm’s philosophy is to create spaces that are above what is expected by the client. The quality of a project is not necessarily related to what it costs, but rather how the project is designed. The parameters for a good design are more a mental attitude of trying to achieve the best.
The success of a project lies in working together with the client and with a team of professionals who agree on the pleasure of their work. A team made up of specialists in architecture, urban planning, calculation of structures, facilities, interior design, industrial design, etc. which creates an environment of shared creativity and exciting motivation. And finally, the key to the working system: precision.
And as a goal, a responsible, creative, free and honest architecture.
RUBEN MUEDRA ESTUDIO DE ARQUITECTURA has a very defined working method. As a starting point, we consider Pablo Picasso’s statement “Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working”. And as a method, an architecture resulting from the sum of external constraints:
- Programmatic context_ Weekly meetings with the client before and during the elaboration of the project, so that it adjusts as much as possible to their interests, needs and possibilities.
- Physical environment_ Inspection of the scope of action to respond to topographic, climatic conditions, views, sunlight, built environment and natural environment.
- Economic reality_ Preparation of a project whose total costs after execution, are exactly adjusted to the budget defined by the client, generating the highest possible return on the investment made.
- Monitoring of work_ Constant presence of the optional management during the execution of the work, guaranteeing compliance with the project requirements, proposing possible improvements, and avoiding the appearance of unforeseen events.
In short, a project and a built architecture, for a client and for one place, and not for another. The result: a unique architecture.
