Le Jardin | OPENIdeas Architects

Le Jardin is a housing project designed by the architectural firm OPENIdeas Architects. The designers wanted to infuse a new aesthetic sensibility into the real estate market of Ahmedabad. They gave us a free hand in designing the interior of the show apartment. Still, they laid out a simple motto: “Elegant and lively livable spaces.” OpenIdeas interiors for Le Jardin blend sophistication with functional elegance and attention to detail.

Cafeteria Barreiros Association | Dall’ovo Magalhães Arquitetura

Cafeteria Barreiros Association is designed by the architectural firm Dall’ovo Magalhães Arquitetura. The intent was to create a contiguous space that had the function of recreational space and coexistence, especially on rainy days, and at the same time could be used for various events. The project seeks to integrate the interior structure to its exterior space and this nature, either by the large glazed wall or by the aluminum brises that give subtle transparency when closed but that, when opened, give the space the characteristic of a large veranda.

Narrow Brick House | Srijit Srinivas – ARCHITECTS

Narrow Brick House is a residence designed by the architectural firm Srijit Srinivas – ARCHITECTS. Despite the narrowness of the building envelope, the interior spaces did not compromise on the ingress and movement of light and air circulation. The design also took advantage of the longitudinal slope of the site via a stepped-down floor plate following the natural contours of the land and, in the process, optimized foundation costs.

SHED 2.0 | Studio ii

SHED 2.0 is a mixed use space designed by the architectural firm Studio ii. The project was conceived as an extension of this landscape and articulates a rather contemporary program with largely traditional spatial vocabulary. The core program is further layered with forecourt, verandas, courtyards and mezzanine spaces that reminisce traditional Guajarati architectural terms of an agrarian household like ‘faliyu’, ‘otlo’, ‘ osri’, ‘chowk’ and ‘maliyu’. These peripheral extensions into the landscape make the spaces more humane and impart a sense of time that is slow and profuse.

Paradise House | Agustin Lozada + Gonzalo Perrote

Paradise House is a residence designed by the collaboration of Agustin Lozada and Gonzalo Perrote. With the premise of breaking the limits within the house, it was decided to limit the changes of uses within the same spaces. The hard chores such as kitchen, laundry, and bathrooms, function as large tablets of services that simultaneously fulfill the function of limiting the spaces inside. In this way, the flexibility that is perceived in the space is an exquisite dynamic in which various functions and uses are combined in a large container space without any interruption to the other.
