Sudaiva StudioVinay Mavinakere graduated from BVBCET, Hubli in 2008 and founded Sudaiva Studio in 2014, bringing with him 7 years of experience with a prominent architectural firm designing and managing large scale architectural projects. This includes a hotel project that has won a national award and was shortlisted at an international architecture festival among the best hotels of the world. Vinay, with his combined skills in design and project management is the driving force behind the studio’s long-term vision. Presently he leads a team of 10 people which includes experienced architects and engineers.

Practice Ideology – Sudaiva Studio

The Studio believe working as architects in a globalized and interconnected world is particularly rewarding. Absorbing global influences and adapting them to context-sensitive regional solutions is a challenge they enjoy. Ever since the studio was founded, they have made it a ritual to journey to sites of design significance around the world. The immense and almost spiritual order in the works of Japanese architects like Tadao Ando and SAANA have enormously influenced their design thinking.

The studio’s design solutions evolve from a drive to strike a perfect balance between opposing parameters. Starting with the client’s vision and weighing it against real world constraints. Considering the site environment and harmonizing the built form with its natural surrounds. Reconciling functional requirements with elements that add to the sensorial experience of the building. Satisfying the need for shelter while opening the building to nature and bringing the outside in. When the right balance is achieved, Vinay believes an overwhelming experience of serenity in the built spaces is the end result.

To achieve the totality of their aspirations for a project, it is necessary to operate as a DESIGN-BUILD firm. From early on in the project lifecycle, the creative thinking is tempered by a full understanding of the construction process. With complete control over every aspect from design to construction, they offer high levels of responsibility for the final outcome of the built form – whether it is a complex, an individual building, its interiors or a landscape. The team composition reflects this design philosophy.
