Excerpt: The Courtyard House is an architectural project designed by Jibu and Thomas Architects in Kerala. The green court as an integrated element of the home, the design presents strong sculptural pieces that define the space and tie it together. These include the staircase acting as a central spine, the Buddha wall art, bold splashes of colour in the furniture.

Project Description

[Text as submitted by architect] Envisioned as an extension of the living and dining, the design of the central court reflects the concepts of the residential zoning as spaces to be experienced freely and without boundaries.

In thinking about the green court as an integrated element of the home, the design presents strong sculptural pieces that define the space and tie it together. These include the staircase acting as a central spine, the Buddha wall art, bold splashes of colour in the furniture, the warm welcoming brick of the walls and customized fan & light installations in the double height space.
