Home is the shelter and the gathering place for everyone. It reminds one of the deepest values and hopes that inspire them. It’s a primary need for everyone. Our humble abodes are being redefined with every passing day. In the fast-paced world, we need homes that are multifunctional and efficient for the users.
With the effects during the recent years that people have experienced, the home environment is more critical than ever. The Tiny House Movement is the perfect approach that has encouraged people to adopt the practice of returning to smaller efficient homes. Their reasons range from strengthening their communities to being able to spend more time with their families and gaining economic viability. This challenge offers designers the opportunity to come up with innovative solutions with optimization of spaces.
Participants are to design a Tiny House for 2 people that would provide a comfortable living accommodation. The design and concept of the house should be innovative, creative and sustainable. The relation between the exterior surroundings and interior spaces must be taken into consideration. The proposed design should be well-conceptualized. The area of the proposed Tiny House should not exceed 300 sq. ft. Mobility being a vital factor, the house need not be self-mobile, but should be treated as an extension that can be towed easily by a car or pickup truck.
About the Organizer
Volume Zero Competitions is an architecture ideas competition and event platform. Its purpose is to establish a global community of professionals and Architecture students and to host Architecture and Design competitions, that will provide an opportunity for participants’ work to gain exposure globally. The competitions are judged by the stalwarts and maestros of the Architecture fraternity.
