About the Talk
Experimentation and innovation are key to a design practice, be it architecture, interiors, furniture design, urban design etc. The talk focuses on use of parametric tools and physical modeling as the primary ways to evolve design. The focus on process and the integration of the design process with parametric tools is core to andblack’s design philosophy.

About Jwalant Mahadevwala
Jwalant is a partner and principal architect at andblack design studio along with his wife Kanika. Jwalant has pursued masters in Architecture and Urbanism at the Architectural Association School of Architecture, London in the Design Research Laboratory. He furthered his professional experience at Zaha Hadid Architects in London. Jwalant’s research at the Architectural Association and his work at andblack has been widely published in National and International magazines and books. Alongside andblack, Jwalant is a design consultant to Asian Heritage Foundation for a World Bank Project to develop design prototypes with Bamboo Fish Traps and Natural Fiber for vulnerable craft communities in Jharkhand and Nepal. He has been the receipt of many design awards including the prestigious Best Young Architect Award 2019.

About Panelist – Adnan Makda
Adnan has completed his bachelors in Architecture from CEPT University , Ahmedabad. He has a special interest in combining technology with architecture. He is currently running a startup known as ARKEYTEC that focuses on applying artificial intelligence to architecture. For his research, he is currently associated with Google AI. Adnan has done his internship from the Renzo Piano Building Workshop. He has won awards like Ultratech: Building for Billion and Kohler student awards.
