Live Interview with Rahul Bhushan, Founder of NORTH – Himachal Pradesh Craftsmanship and Design Innovation Institute

About Rahul Bhushan:
Rahul Bhushan is an unshakable optimist and visionary; born and brought up in Himachal. He is an artist, holds passion for architecture and design, an author/educator, and an activist working closely in his homeland to empower local communities and villagers. He did “Creative and cultural business program” from IIM Ahmedabad and holds graduation from NIT Hamirpur and post graduation in “Crafts and technologies” from CEPT University and HFT stuttgart, Germany. Bhushan has designed projects that range from Art Installations using recycled/reclaimed materials to design of furnitures and products. From design of sustainable eco homes/cabins to museums and exhibitions, conservation projects and public projects of urban scale. His works involve research-design-build project based on positive environmental impact and development of better future of Himachal Pradesh. He has conducted hands-on academic workshops, lectures on applied sustainablity, Himalayan architecture, and revitalisation of indigenous building system “Kathkuni” and more.He finds bliss in walking through forests, observing elements and sounds of nature and spending time alone.
