(“Text as submitted by the Architect”)
This project is a gift from the daughters and sons for their parents, creating a place where families and children can gather on weekends and have fun with their grandparents. Based on the wishes of the owner, we create a space that is both easy for the elderly to live, and at the same time create a garden pool space where children and grandchildren can play at, creating spiritual values for the family.
This land with the main view facing South is adjacent to the road, and a small public park on the west and east sides while the remaining North facing to the drainage channel. With a plot of land of 1000m2, 60% of it is priority for the garden, swimming pool and outdoor space and only 40% for the construction.
The total floor plan of the house is spread out, with the center of the house being the swimming pool and raised by 1.4m compared to the courtyard.
From the main entrance to the garage, you can access it with an open space. The roof may use as an outdoor living space, and at the same time, we cut a planting hole to keep the trees through the roof.
The ground floor is divided into 4 separate functional areas: the kitchen room, dining room, family living room connect to the open space, and grandparents’ room is separate behind to create privacy. Family entertainment space including bar, billiards table and sofa are arranged separately and the separate block is where the gym, sauna and WC are located for the pool and garden areas to create privacy without affecting the private space in the house.
The first floor has 3 bedrooms with access to natural light. And can see the main yard and swimming pool with modern minimalist interior. The architecture of our house uses open space, limiting partitions, mainly using large doors to get wind and light. The ceiling use bamboo materials instead of natural wood to create a luxurious space. The roof frill is made of sheet steel material.
The highlight of the swimming pool in the center of the house is the waterfall flowing from the 1st floor to the lake. Materials used for the garden fence are local materials such as natural split stone, sandstone and basalt.
