Practice Ideology
Clayton Korte is an architecture firm with interior design and brand services that creates rich places that respond to local context, connect to their environment, highlight craft, and celebrate the human experience. Since 2005, we have offered a humanist approach to architecture and design from our offices in Austin and San Antonio. Though our Texas architecture roots run deep, work on winery, ranch, and residential projects have taken us to California, Maryland, Hawaii, and beyond. Clayton Korte built its reputation over several decades on historic, residential remodeling but steadily expanded its capabilities over the past fifteen years under Paul Clayton’s leadership to become much more than a residential design firm. Today, Clayton Korte’s portfolio is balanced with a mix of residential and commercial projects including restaurants, hotels, hospitality, retail, public, and institutional work. In 2016, Paul Clayton named Brian Korte, FAIA; Sam Manning, AIA; and Nathan Quiring, AIA, partners, and George Wilcox, AIA an associate partner. In 2020, the firm changed its name from Clayton & Little to Clayton Korte to reflect a change in firm leadership, ownership, and design direction.
