Arq.ª Cristina Vaz Santos
Cristina Vaz Santos was born in Vila do Conde in 1982. She completed her master’s degree in architecture from ESAP (Escola Superior Artística do Porto, Portugal) in 2009. From 2009 to 2010, she collaborated with the architecture firm João Paulo Loureiro. She then worked at the company Domus Ideias Arquitetura e Engenharia, Lda., from 2010 to 2012. In 2012, she began a solo career in the area of furniture design and architecture. She joined Paulo Rodrigues to create the brand EM PARALELO in 2014.
Arq.º Paulo Rodrigues
Paulo Rodrigues was born in Santa Maria da Feira in 1983. He completed his master’s degree in architecture from ESAP (Escola Superior Artística do Porto, Portugal) in 2009. From 2008 to 2009, he worked in the office of Architect João Carreira Lda. From 2009 to 2013, he began an internship and later became a collaborator at Domus Ideias Arquitetura e Engenharia Lda. In 2014, he joined Cristina Vaz Santos to create the brand EM PARALELO. In 2018–2019, he completed a postgraduate degree in Advanced Studies in Rehabilitation of Built Heritage at FEUP (Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Portugal).
Practice Ideology
An architectural office managed by a pair of architects registered with INPI (National Institute of Industrial Property, Portugal), Em Paralelo asserts itself as a reference in the world of architecture, design, and image. All projects are developed and matured based on the experiences acquired, valuing creativity, rigour, and technological advancement, which highlights redefining boundaries and differentiating themselves from others.
Em Paralelo intends to be closer to its clients, elevating each project to a life purpose that results in well-being and satisfaction. The architecture office also seeks to create a strong bond of commitment, respect, and loyalty with clients, making their dreams come true.
