Practice Ideology

Jasper Brown Architects is a multi-award-winning Brisbane-based practice, focused on designing and delivering thoughtful and inspiring architecture. Our goal is to create innovative and sustainable contemporary buildings which transcend out clients’ expectations and become an enduring delight to occupy. In our work we imagine how selected individual and collective ritual activities can be appropriately and elegantly accommodated within carefully tailored sequences of space, which we hope will amplify and ennoble the experience of the occupants. The majority of our work is in the residential, multi-residential, retail and small commercial sectors. The design of residential architecture is a particular focus in our work, and the goal of the compact, energy efficient, cost-effective dwelling is a recurring preoccupation for the practice. Our studio is located in the central Brisbane suburb of West End. As well as working in and around Brisbane, we have also completed designs up and down the eastern seaboard of Australia, from Mission Beach in north Queensland to Bega in southern New South Wales. Additionally we have completed several residential projects in the UK. Collaboration is a fundamental aspect of our working method, and underpins much of what we do in our practice.  For each project we like to collaborate closely with our clients from inception to completion, developing and refining the design together through several iterations. Receiving client feedback from regular presentations and discussions is an essential part of this process.
