Practice Ideology

Loer Architecten designs urban planning and architecture that transcends the everyday. They stand for craftsmanship and sustainability. They shape ambitious ideas with an eye for the smallest detail and with the necessary attention to nature and society. They do so in close cooperation with their clients, builders, and advisors. They work on the three challenges in architecture and urban planning: densifying, connecting, and sustainability. They believe in mixed functions, biobased materials, and the circular economy. With a sense of aesthetics and realism, Loer Architecten works on the city of the future that appeals to one’s imagination.

Loer Architecten was founded by Frank Loer and is based in Rotterdam. With a passionate team of architects, he designs residential buildings, offices, houses, and public projects. The office is actively working on the energy transition and draws all projects in BIM (3D). Frank started his career at the renowned office of Herzog & de Meuron in Switzerland. Next to that, he worked on award-winning projects at Powerhouse Company. Loer Architecten works with builders such as 13 Speciaal. In 2021, Frank Loer received the ARC21 Young Talent Award organised by De Architect; in 2022, Loer Architect was a finalist at the Next Step Award organised by BNA en Synchroon.
