ALEX JOSEPH
Alex is an architect and interior designer with more than 15 years of professional experience in the industry. He is the principal architect and founding partner of the architecture design studio Myspace Architects, based in Noida, Delhi, NCR. After completing his architecture degree from the College of Engineering Trivandrum, Kerala, in 2008, he worked with many reputed firms in Bangalore and Delhi, gaining extensive experience in the field.
A passion for architecture and the urge to bring unique results led to the formation of Myspace architects in 2013. His warm, receptive personality and ability to solve complex design challenges in the most simplified way have helped the firm win many hearts and minds. Over the past years, he has won national and international recognition for his remarkable projects.
DONA ALEX
Dona is an academician and a practicing architect with over 15 years of professional experience in the construction industry. After completing her architecture degree from the College of Engineering Trivandrum, Kerala, in 2008, she worked with reputed firms in Bangalore before pursuing her Masters in Construction Management from the University of Reading, UK. Returning from the UK, she resumed her career in Delhi and co-founded the architectural practice with Ar. Alex Joseph in 2013.
She also worked as an assistant professor at Amity School of Architecture and Planning, Noida, and worked on numerous academic as well as research projects. Her concerns for social issues and her desire to bring innovative solutions to inherent problems have led the firm to take up several research projects, some of which have won national and international recognition.
Practice Ideology
As a practice, Myspace Architects is a design-driven studio focused on delivering unique, functional, and affordable results through continuous research and experiments. They believe in elevating the brand identity and lifestyle of their clients through tailor-made, innovative design ideas. They do not follow any specific design style. Instead, they develop every project with the utmost skill and care to be a tailor-made design solution. Their approach to design is distinctly contemporary yet comfortingly familiar. At their studio, the designers do not believe in the saying “A house should look like a house.” They enjoy tinkering with texture, colour, light, mass, and space to bring what they call ‘aesthetic functionality’.
They believe design is the morphogenesis of an idea, for which the greatest inspiration is the client and understanding his requirements in their true sense. They are greatly inspired by the storyline of the project or the site conditions where the required functions have to be fitted in. Many times, the best solution to any complex problem is simple and direct, while keeping equal emphasis on the aesthetics and uniqueness of the experience. Hence, they call their spaces “aesthetically functional,” where they never miss any opportunity to add value to the building while making it functional.
