Jills Philip
Jills Philip is one of the principals of the award-winning studio – SJA, based in Kochi which he co-founded with college mate Ar. Soumya Augustine. Soumya & Jills are alumni of the MES School of Architecture.
Starting in 2010, SJA has been creating architecture characterized by a sensitivity to place, context, and user identities. The firm is the winner of various awards including the Indian Architect & Builder Young Designer of the year award (2012) and multiple IIA Kerala State Awards (2012, 2013, 2014, & 2016), including the Gold leaf Award in 2014.
He considers himself very fortunate to have been selected for the Bangalore Workshop in 2015 where he received tutelage under the legendary Australian architect Richard Leplastrier, the learnings of which still inform and inspire the quality of architecture that SJA strives to achieve.

Practice Ideology
Started in 2010, SJA has been creating work characterized by a sensitivity to place, context and user identities. Winner of various awards including the IA&B National Young Designer of the year award (2012) and 4 IIA Kerala Chapter Awards. They were selected among the 15 architects from India to take part in the Bangalore workshop in 2015 at IIM Bangalore.
12 years, 6 awards, 200+ projects, 40+ alumni. SJA has been making architecture that belongs to its context, and creating pure spaces of well being for people. Inspiring young architects, with a passionate zeal to make meaningful changes in people’s lives through its architecture.
