Chitra Vishwanath
She holds a Nigerian national diploma and pursued a Bachelor of Architecture at CEPT University, Ahmedabad. In 1990, she founded Chitra Vishwanath Architects. She is an advisor to Kilikili Trust, with the aim of creating public play spaces that can be used by all children, with or without disabilities. She is also a co-ordinator at in:ch, an Indo-Swiss sustainability education initiative.

Biome Environmental Solutions is a multidisciplinary firm working on ecological architecture and intelligent water and sanitation designs since its inception in 1990. Through their work, they strive to showcase that an ecological design practice can be mainstream and relevant in various contexts, including geography, typology, and scale, balanced by the client’s aspirations for aesthetics, functionality, and budget.
This effort has been especially focused on the urban scenario, using materials and systems to create a language of action that is not bound by preconceptions of what defines architecture. Every project is a test bed for developing this language using a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach grounded in informed decisions.
