Investing concepts also means transgressing, generating counterflows.

Project Description

[Text as submitted by Architect] In the current process of expansion of cities, what is important is not constituted by financial resources, nor does materiality define its character and less some kind of style or form. Today, the essential lies in the place. Living in the city means access to infrastructure, drinking water, transportation, public space, food, education, and culture, which makes it possible for being urban to become human. 

Inscribed in this reasoning, absolutely urgent, contemporary, and universal, this small project rethinks issues such as density, public space, the best use of energy, and how these elements contribute to the generation of a new identity. Thus, the assumption can (and should) re-become any city on the planet and establish minimum parameters of habitability. 

With scarce financial resources we rearrange the grid of traditional construction costs, and from rigorous analysis, we identify that where the least amount of energy is spent is in the support (the structure), it is subsequently coated with finishes, expensive materials, but socially recognized as signs of status whose result is a complete distortion between skeleton and filling.

This disarms the concept of integrity and impoverishes the authentic as well as the space. Investing concepts also means transgressing, generating counterflows. In this way… What supports, really structure liberates and is space, this becomes form and is recognized indifference, therefore generates a clear and frank image, above all authentic.

A result full of dignity presents the materials in their specific process of use and work. Thus, in the concept of Heidegger, one inhabits, recognizes, and belongs to the space, accesses the improved result that gives it the contemporary action of the reason referred to the concept of the single-family home. 

Then some journalistic comments… On a plot of 10×30 3 single-family homes each defined as follows a semi level, a ground floor, a terrace (won), an intimate area, and an expansion on a terrace on an urban scale. 190m2 built, exaggerated light, air, views, absolute relationship with the horizon and the city. Satisfied users, in typically Paraguayan spaces.
