Project Description

[Text as submitted by architect] The main objective when designing this house was to preserve the 70-year-old guava tree that moved from Morelia to Mexico City and that became the central axis of the Project. Thanks to its central location, the immediate context of the project has characteristics interesting and particular, which favored interior-exterior integration.

Another of the intentions of the project was that through its design and distribution It will grant views of the entire land through its transparency on the ground floor, thus allowing the contemplation of the amplitude of the site. Considering the program architecture, the decision was made to design the house in two volumes that join by a bridge, which crosses two strategically designed courtyards, these allow the temperature regulation inside through cross ventilation; taking advantage of weather conditions in the area throughout the year.

The secondary courtyard was conceived as an outdoor dining room with direct communication to the kitchen and overlooking the main patio, which is surrounded by the two volumes that they house the rest of the program, as well as by a large floating wall that embraces the house.

The private areas were integrated into the second level of both volumes, which highlights the configuration of the main bedroom made up of large slabs and floating concrete elements.
