[Text as submitted by architect] The topic given is an apartment with a small area for a young couple in District 7, HCM City, which is a self-motivated, fresh, and prosperous area. This makes us think about a fashionable style for the young generation that is a branch of the Avant-Garde style but simpler, namely, the Dark-wear style. We based our design on this inspiration to follow minimalism and modern style, with the main colors being black and white. At the same time, to avoid stuffy feelings and the narrowness of an apartment with only 75 square meters, we have almost removed the room dividers and replaced them with glass edges of different shapes and forms.
The living room and bedroom are divided by flexible glass edges, which can connect all spaces into one while providing flexibility and privacy when needed. The WC and working room use curving glass edges and glass tiles. All the types of glass edges above aim to create brightness, spaciousness, and luxury for interiors. The structure and technique of this apartment are cleverly covered with walls and cubes with different shapes and lines to increase sensory enjoyment.
In addition to the primary color tones of black and white, we add brown colors from the wood and leather of the furniture to increase coziness and reduce the cold feelings that minimalism often brings.
Architecture, as well as fashion—wearing whatever clothes or being in a space—also orients the thoughts and feelings of the user. And this apartment has a modern, audacious, and simple mindset.
