[Text as submitted by architect] In the heart of nature’s sanctuary, nestled amidst the whispering woods, lies “The Chevron House.” This weekend retreat is a testament to the fusion of architecture and the natural world, where dreams and nature entwine. It’s a place where earthy elegance takes center stage, and the chevron pattern, a symbol of both continuity and contrast, whispers its story to all who enter.
The designers believe in the art of harmonizing elegance with nature, exemplified by their masterpiece – “The Chevron House.” This architectural gem is a tranquil sanctuary discreetly nestled behind the main residence, inviting the user to escape, gather with friends, and indulge in serene moments.
The creative journey began with an unfinished canvas – the entrance. Here, an exquisite blend of mirror and river-finished granite creates an enchanting pathway, leading to an open-air barbecue sit-out, cocooned amidst the verdant embrace of nature.
The designers have employed a distinctive approach for the elevation of the residence. Half bricks gracefully adorn the façade, a testament to their commitment to unique design. Two elevated chajjas elegantly become a part of the structure, adding character and depth. The entire elevation is enveloped in concrete shade daani plaster, marrying modern aesthetics with timeless charm.
Adding a burst of color and meaning to the design, a local artist from Vadodara has painted a vibrant mural on one of the elevation walls. This masterpiece depicts a colorful array of plants and trees, celebrating nature’s diversity and splendor. It breathes life into the elevation, infusing depth and meaning into the entire design.
Inside, Chevron House unveils two distinct living spaces. The first is drenched in natural light, adorned with a meticulously crafted CNC wooden panel, welcoming the outdoors in. The second mimics the raw allure of exposed concrete, ingeniously achieved with Asian paint texture, adding a touch of rustic charm.
Step further to the dining area, where terracotta bricks infuse warmth, and an elegant bar table bridges the gap between the kitchen and dining space. The tranquil bedroom boasts a Chevron-patterned bedback, while a nearby library invites the user to embrace moments of solitude and literary exploration.
Descending to the lower level, an elegant game room adorned with a playful Chevron pattern wallpaper sparks imaginative play, while the adjacent home theater promises cinematic delights.
Throughout Chevron House, the flooring narrates a unique story. Terracotta borders gracefully frame the space, while terrazzo flooring, cast on-site, features a mosaic of green and terracotta chips, adding a touch of artistry.
The design journey took an exciting turn when the designers discovered the chevron pattern woven bamboo mat, infusing intriguing textures and depth throughout the house, transforming Chevron House into a true work of art.
