About Competition
Grozny is the capital of the Chechen Republic, one of the most dynamically developing cities in the North Caucasus. It is a place where carefully preserved traditions meet new technologies and a desire for the future. The decision to hold a competition to develop the master plan of Grozny reflected a new stage in the development of the city and the entire Republic.
The key priorities for the development of Grozny are:
– export orientation;
– diversification of the economy;
– introduction of IT technologies;
– creation of accessible business structure;
– formation of a new quality environment;
– strengthening of national identity.
The initiator of the Competition – Mayor’s Office of the Grozny city with the support of the Government of the Chechen Republic and the major Russian financial institute in the field of development DOM.RF.
Organizing Committee – Agency for strategic development “CENTER”, analytical and consulting company working in the field of development, urban planning and urban science.
Format: Open, Worldwide, Two-stage
Aim – Development of a Master Plan for the city of Grozny by holding an Open International Competition.
The major goals are to identify:
– spatial planning and development potential;
– resource portfolio and capabilities for UTP;
– economic profiling;
– urban growth zones;
– travel and recreation services market.
The Chairman of the Jury – Ramzan Kadyrov, the Head of the Chechen Republic. The jury included representatives of the government authorities of the Chechen Republic, of the City council of Grozny, experts in the field of integrated development of territories, urban planning, economics, marketing and communications, technologies and innovations.
Expert Council is a consultative body composed of representatives of the executive authorities of Grozny, as well as Russian and international experts in the field of integrated development of territories, urban planning, architecture and economics.
Participants can be professional organizations in the field of integrated development of territories and urban planning, architecture and capable of attracting specialists in the field of economics, finance, content programming to the team.
Prizes
All Finalists are paid a fixed remuneration of RUB 4,000,000, including all taxes and fees.
The winner will be the author of the best Competition Proposal, selected as a result of voting by the members of the Competition Jury. Following the results of the Jury meeting, the Winner will receive an additional payment in the appropriate amount:
1st place — RUB 4,000,000
2nd place — RUB 2,500,000
3rd place — RUB 1,500,000
The total prize fund is RUB 20,000,000.
