[Text as submitted by architect] In the lush green landscapes of Kerala, where tradition and nature harmoniously coexist, Framed House stands uniquely embodying the philosophy “less is more”. This masterpiece blends seamlessly with the traditional charm of Kerala with clean lines and minimalism.
The design team tackled the narrowness of the site by focusing on simplicity, functionality and the use of pure geometry. The design principle aims to create open, uncluttered spaces that promote a sense of tranquility and harmony with nature. This approach brings a sense of order and clarity, allowing the beauty of the house to shine through.
The journey starts through a beautifully landscaped garden with native plants and tropical flora. The spacious veranda of the house provides a perfect spot for morning tea or evening conversations. This design approach invites natural light and ventilation while providing unobstructed views of the lush greenery.
As one steps inside, they are greeted by an open and airy space with high ceilings and large windows that allow ample natural light to flood in. One is welcomed by an expansive living, dining and kitchen area that encourages interaction and facilitates ventilation. The central green strip is the heart of the residence, which offers a retreat within the home, allowing residents to connect with nature.
The water feature creates a soothing soundscape and cooling effect to the office space adjacent to it. The two bedrooms on the ground floor are nicely tucked in the corners to provide maximum privacy.
